Milly: The Wild Rose

When I first started writing 'Wild Rose', I had a clear picture of the main character in my head. I knew what she looked like, where she lived, what she was like as a person and what her arc was going to be.

For starters, she isn't the kind of girl who you would normally picture walking around in the wild with wolves. She's a girly girl, and proud of it. She loves to wear blue, pink and pretty dresses. She's a quintessential English rose, even though she lives in a land very similar to Scotland.

If she were to go to Hogwarts, I'm not sure what house she'd be in. Truth is, she has qualities that would get her accepted in all four houses. (Her friend Frankie, on the other hand, definitely belongs in Gryffindor.)

What I love most about her is that she's got a determined streak - and she doesn't even know she has it.
